Healing from Shame with Faith and Grace

“Holy Spirit Come In and Stay”

“Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]? If anyone destroys the temple of God [corrupting it with false doctrine], God will destroy the destroyer; for the temple of God is holy (sacred), and that is what you are.”

— 1 Corinthians 3:16–17 AMP

I had so much shame from the bad choices and mistakes I made. I remember it very clearly — I felt empty, alone, miserable, depressed, and in such a dark place of bitterness, pain, and anger, while confessing I was a Christian and faithfully attending and being active in ministries.

I was so bound up in misinformation about what it takes to be a Christian and have a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. I was involved in traditions, religious activities, and ministries while being intentionally hypocritical and sinking deep in sin — bound up in the deception that if I looked the part and put Jesus’s name on it, I would be okay no matter what.

It was at that point when I lost something I had put my heart, soul, and time into — more than into God and His Kingdom — for years.

“For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”
— Deuteronomy 4:24 NKJV

Once again, I was experiencing emptiness, loneliness, misery, depression, bitterness, and pain like no other — but this time at a MAX 100. I couldn’t tell if I was coming or going. I couldn’t see another reason to live another day.

I know God purposely arranged this moment in my life to deliver me, shift and align my path with His Will. All I could do was utilize one of my favorite spiritual weapons — PRAYER. Yessssssssssssss — nothing can compare to a heartfelt, real conversation with the Uncreated Creator of our Soul. This is the day my relationship truly started with God and His Holy Spirit.

God informed me that I needed quality time with Him and His Holy Spirit, and to continue to be spiritually clothed with His Armour. He told me I must make a choice and surrender “ALL” to Him and His principles and invite His Holy Spirit in, or choose my flesh, my ways, and the consequences that come with those choices.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

— John 14:26 NKJV

So I made a choice and immediately said:

“Holy Spirit, You are Welcome Here,
Come On In and Stay.
I Want and Need You.”

My life hasn’t been the same ever since I truly invited Him in. It is a daily, consistent, loyal, faithful relationship like no other that keeps growing and getting better. 😍🔥👑
